Stellata

“The desire of the moth for the star,
of the night for the morrow,
the devotion to something afar,
from the sphere of our sorrow.”
~Shelley

The long petals for my white luna moth are from the Magnolia Stellata. Its flower looks like a star. But it could easily have been called a Moth Magnolia in my mind because its buds looks like fuzzy cocoons… or moth bodies! But I love that is has a name of something moths love. Isn’t that lovely?

And speaking of moths, (well their silk anyway), I found a natural silk ribbon dyer who makes the loveliest colors.  Instagram: @silkandwillow Good heavens! They make me want to make flowers or hair bows out of them…or just hang them in my house. Images from Silk and Willow. Screen Shot 2015-02-19 at 1.50.15 PM Screen Shot 2015-02-19 at 1.50.51 PM
