Pink Moths

Screen Shot 2014-05-04 at 9.38.40 AM In my hunt for marvelous moths I’ve stumbled upon several pink varieties.  The other day I got out my pen and paints and set out to paint as many as I could find. Oh the names!  And colors! And patterns! If you’re tickled pink (sorry I had to) by any of these moths take a second to look them up.  They’re absolutely beautiful.  And cute!

I often have people ask me, “Why moths?”

they drink nectar in the moonlight…

they love the stars,

they sparkle with pixie dust,

they’re furry like tiny rabbits,

they have the most imaginative names: the clouded silver, the flame shoulder, the Rosy Maple

Their wings come in all patterns, shapes, and colors. Look up the Sunset Moth or the Zodiac Moth!

They spin silky magic…

Do you have anything silk? Butterflies don’t spin cocoons, moth caterpillars do! Wear a silk scarf and you have around your neck the very thing these little creatures wear to grow WINGS!

Why moths?

…Why not?

You can find them in my shop here:
