This year we had a Good Friday celebration with just our little family. I told the boys about how Jesus is like a caterpillar who died, went into his cocoon, and rose again a butterfly. They were wide eyed as I told them about it. Then I hung their nests in the lilacs and they went and found them. They loved them! We spent the day watching you tube videos of birds hatching from eggs and the Funny Little Bunnies silly symphony. I made Jamie Oliver’s Harissa Lamb….mmmm. And then Beau went off to the Yacht Club for a sailing class and we went to the horticultural center to see if we could see his boat. We saw two beavers instead! It was a magical, gorgeous day complete with a mushroom fairy ring in the front garden. Sometimes I have to pinch myself: this marvelous world around us is real! And as if that wasn’t already enough, today we went to my parents for the annual egg hunt, a quiche and shortcake and lavender lemonade brunch, swimming and baseball and garden strolling, and a fish dinner (because Jesus had fish to prove he was alive)..whew! He is risen indeed!
I loved getting to spend time with my family during the break. I feel so at ease and in love with everything. Lovely lovely spring!
Happy Easter :)
