A fairy book finished.

Announcement! The first draft of my book is finished! Filled with plot holes reminiscent of a cloth in a moth ridden cupboard, but nevertheless done. I have already started in on my reformatting and second drafting, but I am trying hard to take a break so I can come back to it fresh.

This painting (I’m sorry for its camera phone quality) is one I did of a few of the moths in the book. The girls in my writers group think I should paint some illustrations for my book. If I did I would want them to look like a cross between Pauline Baynes and Arthur Rackham. Truth is, if I am so lucky to have my book published I probably won’t get to do my own illustrations. But if nobody wants it, then I will for sure! We’ll see, we’ll see. So many what ifs. My accomplishment has created just as much anxiety as excitement. But I’m holding fast to the joy in the time being.

  1. I just love you. You are delightful. And ever so Anne-ish in your personal scolding, but also Anne in your resolve. I am praying for joy in this book publishing journey. Keep running forward and spreading light. I remember that Jesus said, “I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” His light in your life seems symbolic too!

    Love you!
