Garden dragon.

I found him on Whidbey Island and absolutely fell in love.  DSC01708But when I went back to the Bayview Garden Center with the kids to buy him they told me they were all sold out of their dragons.  We were sad, but we made the most of our time, frolicking through the flowers, buying sweets, and playing giant chess.  Then just as we were about to leave, we found him.  He was under some foliage, waiting just for us.

Oliver especially was entranced by his little self.
“He was hiding!” he said.DSC01656

He still needs a name.  Smaug is the current favorite!

I’ve been meaning to do a garden post for a while, but right now I’ll just show you this picture from when the Roddy’s were over last week:DSC01363Magic! I’ve been working hard clearing and rearranging and remembering what Audrey Hepburn says, “Gardening is faith in tomorrow.”

Oh Jude, please please bloom for me in partial shade! Maybe he will now that he has a dragon looking over him!

  1. Haha! I was having a hard time describing him! Cute, but not kitschy? Well..maybe a little bit kitschy ;)

  2. He’s perfect! I wouldn’t call him kitschy at a all! Actually, it’s funny, he kind of reminds me of Beorn :)
