After the Storm

Birds in your hair, by Bridget Beth

Joey and I listened to After the Storm by Mumford and Sons yesterday. She told me she had a song for us.  We cried together, it’s so beautiful, and so what we need for this new year. At first I thought one of the lyrics was “Fly, birds in your hair.” LOVE! The line is actually, “Flowers in your hair.” (Which I still love) But the birds in hair imagery stuck with me.

“And there will come a time, you’ll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.”

Here’s to getting over our hills and finding grace in our hearts in 2013.

  1. Bridget, thanks for sharing that. A good reflection with which to begin a new year. I hope I will see you soon. PVT
