little faun.

More than one person has mentioned that Oliver with a full leg cast on looks like Mr. Tumnus.  It’s so true!  The way he has to walk on it, and even just the way it’s shaped has turned him into a little faun.  It warms my heart!‘Meanwhile, it is winter in Narnia, and has been for ever so long, and we shall both catch cold if we stand here talking in the snow. Daughter of Eve from the far land of Spare Oom where eternal summer reigns around the bright city of War Drobe, how would it be if you came and had tea with me?’ The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe

But that cute/awful cast is also very itchy and painful.  Poor Oliver (and poor us!) has hardly gotten any winks the last couple of nights.  I’ve been blowing air from the hair dryer into it (much like Aslan’s breath when he turns Mr. Tumnus from stone!) to keep the itch away.  Luckily this one will be taken off and a fresh one put on this Wednesday.  I’m hoping for no signs of infection or rash or disease, especially where the wires are sticking out of his heel.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could be done with only one more cast?  There’s a chance for it!  Perhaps cast number 18 will do the trick and Spring will come again!
