illumination.

After reading this post by my dear friend Sharon, I was inspired to illuminate this verse.  I’ve heard the first part of this verse a million times. But I’d never really thought about the imagery of the moth and rust and treasure and a heart.  It’s such a beautiful verse, coupled with such beautiful wisdom.

It deserves to be illuminated, not only on paper, but also in my heart during this season.

Beau’s mom also told me that this is the verse that Beau gave his family after they had a robbery when he was a kid.  They were bound and held at gunpoint in their house and everything inside was smashed or stolen.  I’ve been thinking a lot about that robbery lately.  It sounds even scarier than it already did now that I have kids of my own.  It makes me teary to think that after such a frightening event Beau thought of this verse.  I love that guy.
