On friday while I was on a long drive the sky was doing some amazing things.  Yep…I took pictures while driving.  Shhhh.  Don’t tell anyone.  (This is a backward progression)What really made it spectacular was that as these streaks were catapulting out of the mist and clouds and rain, and blue sky and golden light began to take over the sky, Celine Dion’s song “A new day has come” came on.  Finn and I both understood the brevity of it.  He yelled out…“MAMA!  The music is making the sun come out!  The song is making the light come out of the clouds!”  Oh how I love that boy.  Just look at the lyrics!

I was waiting for so long
For a miracle to come
Everyone told me to be strong
Hold on and don’t shed a tear

Through the darkness and good times
I knew I’d make it through
And the world thought I had it all
But I was waiting for you

Hush now

I see a light in the sky
Oh, it’s almost blinding me
I can’t believe
I’ve been touched by an angel with love

Let the rain come down and wash away my tears
Let it fill my soul and drown my fears
Let it shatter the walls for a new, new sun

A new day has… come

Where it was dark now there’s light
Where there was pain now there’s joy
Where there was weakness, I found my strength
All in the eyes of a boyYeah.  I cried.  While taking pictures, and driving, and singing Celine Dion.

I can’t wait to look into the eyes of my next boy.

  1. That song has inspired me in some times when i wasn’t sure what the next steps were going to be. Beautiful post.

  2. Thanks you guys! I need to buy some Celine dion! I don’t have anything of hers but she’s such a comforting voice from the past!

Maryann! I was so bummed you weren’t at the dance. I really needed you. It was a needy night for me! And you are my bestest remedy for awkwardness!! :). I love you.
