Last night Maryann and I parked on the south side near Florentia Street so we could walk across the canal. We ate at Pie. Best Chicken pot pie ever! And then got ice cream sundaes at 9 Million in Unmarked Bills. What a name! I have to say I wasn’t very impressed with 9 Million in Unmarked Bills. It made me miss The Triangle that used to be there. Best buttery garlic clams ever! But Maryann tells me there’s another place that is getting rave review from her friends for its clams in Ballard: The Walrus and the Carpenter. Now if that isn’t a perfect name for a place to eat clams I don’t know what is! (Also, cute website!)
But it still wouldn’t have the same feel as eating outside on the triangle corner in the middle of Fremont with a 20 year old Beau. Here’s my tribute to missing The Triangle:
I also really miss the Longshoreman’s Daughter. Someday I hope I find a place that serves up roasted breakfast potatoes and snarky attitude as well as that place did. But that’s the past for you. It’s sealed up perfectly in a little locket…you can open it to take a peek, but you can never go back. And that’s probably what makes it so special.
