I can hardly believe this is the end! (well, the first part of the end) I’m going to the movie with Erin today. My very first Harry Potter confidante. I have Harry Potter fever! I’m representing with my Gryffindor colors, looking up all the old photos I have of book releases, midnight viewings, and blog posts documenting my obsession. It truly has been an incredible ride through the wizarding world.
I love how the beginning of the very first book starts out with speaking of how the Dursleys: “…were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much.” “…nothing strange or mysterious ever happened to them because they didn’t hold with such nonsense.” It’s as if JK was letting you know straight away: put down your stuffy guard and let yourself go. Enjoy this magical world.
I am happy to say that I have in every sense of the word, been elated by these strange and mysterious books. I can’t wait to be with my old friends again today; the broken wand toting, radish earring wearing, frizzy hair indulging, bat bogey hexing, boy wizard heroes!
