Today Sharon and I sat under these boughs eating pain aux chocolate and apple turn overs. I am very intrigued by what kind of specimen this tree is…I still haven’t the foggiest. Maybe some kind of nut? A couple of ravens were cackling away in it, perhaps they were discussing the same.

(I was sitting on the steps looking out to sea :)

A new bakery just opened up in Kingston so we walked onto the ferry to explore. While there we found out that the new firehouse theater has a cry room in it. Genius! Speaking of baby, in the toy shop I found some awesome green to grow glass baby bottles. I came home ecstatic to show Beau his late night feeding implements! We’ve decided to share the night feedings this go around, with the hopes that a little extra sleep will curb any postpartum depression…please God!

Something tells me I’ll be adventuring over to Kingston quite a bit this summer. Sharon and I are excited about biking…I should get a basket for my bike to fill up with yummy farmers market goodies!

Today I had no basket, so I carried a loaf of brie and tomato bread home in my purse from the bakery to go with my cioppino tonight. But after cooking it I got cramps so bad that Beau told me I don’t have to cook anymore until after the baby comes. This oddly made me sad, because all of a sudden I love to cook. I’ll have to learn to sit while I chop and dice and stir! I can’t let Giada and Ina down!Anyhoo… Today was just what I needed. Sunny 60 degrees, an escape to the peninsula, and a nice chat bearing my heart to a dear friend. The last couple of weeks have been a strain on me emotionally and physically, and I needed a breath of fresh air to give me some perspective. I mean, even if the only thing that happened today was that I found out that there is a movie theater with a cry room in it…things would be looking up. So there you have it.

Oh and I got a sun burn on my nose while sun tanning in winter. That, too, is devine.

I know this post is random…just roll with it.

  1. Thank you, Kj. Hey, Lucy told me you have an iris that smells just like dr. Pepper! I need one! There's a variety of rhododendron that smells like root beer…maybe I could have a soda fountain garden…sounds like a magazine article, doesn't it?
