I just became a
brand new member of the
Audubon Society!

I can’t wait to receive their bimonthly publication and feel so honored to be apart of a society that has been doing wonderful things for the safety and restoration of bird habitats over the last 100 years! the society was named after John James Audubon, the romantic frontiersman who set out to paint every North American bird. You can read about him here.
The latest local thing I’ve heard they are collaborating on is trying to bring blue birds back to the San Juans. I wonder if I’ll see any on our kayak voyage?

Now I totally want this.

  1. One of our family's favorite children's books is "The Boy Who Drew Birds: A Story of John James Audubon" by Jacqueline Davies, illustrated by Melissa Sweet. The whimsical watercolor and collage illustrations give a glow to an absolutely fascinating story!
