Rainy August afternoonToday has been sweet, holed up indoors. Sometimes dreaming of warm summer days is almost as pleasant as the actual thing. I’ve been listening to the women’s folk music mix Shanti and Mette’s dad gave to me on my last day nannying them. It reminds me of those precious days with those adorable girls, doing hair and drawing flowers and pining after a baby of my own. My favorite song on the (makeshift) 3 disk set at the moment is Emmylou Harris’ Blackhawk and White Wing Dove song.Today I am with my own sweet babe, who instead of doing hair and drawing flowers enjoys being thrown around and banging things together :) And the pining is more after Lucy B’s new perfume which Anthropologie says is

“Summer in a bottle.”Pink Frangipani: notes of pink grapefruit, pineapple and red suva frangipani float on a tropical breeze of heliotrope and coconut (FLORAL)

We could certainly use some summer in a bottle on these soggy days! My collage has some of the scents this Australian flower perfume contains, and a little bit of the oak tree fetish I’ve had of late.

Now I’m off for a salmon dinner at the folks! Finn and Beau are patiently waiting for me to get OFF the computer! G’bye!

Oh and we had strawberry pancakes today! YUMmmmm

  1. I love that you have an oak tree fetish because I’ve always been mystified by the role of the oak tree in Genesis 12 (I think it is 12)… and thanks for inviting me along… I needed your sister love this morning.
